The WE1010 from Weller is a powerful 70 Watt soldering station that is perfect for passionate hobbyists, DIYers, and anyone who needs to build or repair electronics. This soldering station operates at 120V and features an easy-to-read LCD screen with three push buttons to provide variable temperature control, a front switch for easy power control, and intuitive navigation features. The included 70 Watt soldering iron is lightweight with an ergonomic foam grip and an interchangeable, iron-plated, copper ET series tip. The soldering iron can even be housed in a reinforced safety rest to provide you with extra stability and safety!

The WE1010NA is completely ESD safe and is 40% more powerful than the well-known WES/WESD stations. This allows the iron to heat up faster and provides a faster recovery time! Since this is the North American version, the soldering station only includes a standard type B plug. If you are looking for a high-quality soldering iron for easy professional soldering jobs, PCBs, electronic kits, or educational purposes, the Weller WE1010 is an economical soldering choice!

Note: Only ET Series tips made by Weller will work with the WE1010. Unfortunately, Hakko tips and different series of Weller tips will not work with this soldering station.

How to Solder: Castellated Mounting Holes

May 12, 2015

Tutorial showing how to solder castellated holes (or castellations). This might come in handy if you need to solder a module or PCB to another PCB. These castellations are becoming popular with integrated WiFi and Bluetooth modules.

How to Solder: Through-Hole Soldering

September 19, 2013

This tutorial covers everything you need to know about through-hole soldering.

Core Skill: Soldering

This skill defines how difficult the soldering is on a particular product. It might be a couple simple solder joints, or require special reflow tools.

1 Soldering

Skill Level: Noob - Some basic soldering is required, but it is limited to a just a few pins, basic through-hole soldering, and couple (if any) polarized components. A basic soldering iron is all you should need.

Does anyone know how this compares to the Hakko FX888D, having used both of them? I have to say I like the smooth look of my Hakko station better... but I know Weller has a pretty good name in the industry.

First soldering iron, does amazing!

This thing is handling all the mistakes I'm making fantastically, very easy to store thanks to the disconnecting tool, love that I can change the temp even though I don't know why you would change the temp yet.

Heats up fast, digital control is very good.

It can heat up to 400C which I usually solder at, but the soldering iron's pencil can get loose and worn very fast.

Reliable as Weller has always been

Bought this to have something to tinker and fix things with, and it's everything I remember a Weller product to be: dependable, straightforward, and well designed.
